Delicious small serving in London

Piccolo on Shepherd Market

The Piccolo Bar near Shepherd Market calls itself a “High Quality Sandwich Bar”, and does not promise too much! There are great melts, pasta, pizza and paninis at unbeatable prices. Quickly served in a very unpretentious atmosphere. In the basement, next to the kitchen’s entrance, there are also a few tables. Nothing fancy, but the food is good and cheap! Do not let the queue scare you away: it goes fast and is worth the wait!

4 stops on the Piccadilly Line to Green Park, Mayfair is not far away.

Foxcroft & Ginger

Here in the heart of Soho, the amiable owners Quintin and Georgina opened their little kingdom of delicacies: homemade bread and pastries, good coffee and meals for lunch and dinner that attract especially hipster customers.

The small carrot cupcake behind the counter looked particularly appealing and tasted delicious!

Muriel’s Kitchen

This small food chain also has a shop right next to South Kensington station, so it’s just around the corner of the MEININGER Hotel London Hyde Park! There’s a small selection of dishes which are already prepared and visible behind the counter, so you can take a look before placing your order. Hearty British cuisine (Is lasagna really a traditional British dish? I doubt.) using fresh, local ingredients at reasonable prices – at least for London prices. Monthly changing menu.

Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Byron Hamburger

You don’t feel like McDonald’s or Burger King? This London hamburger chain has over 30 restaurants in the city. Here, it’s fine to walk in as a larger group, for example into the restaurant at Gloucester Road Station directly at MEININGER Hotel London Hyde Park. It offers a higher quality menu than regular fast food chains. There are simple burgers, salads and desserts of good quality. Also, the choice of drinks is more refreshing than usual, with a nice selection of beers and wines…
