Age
Everyone is welcome at MEININGER! Guests under the age of 18 who are not travelling in a group and stay overnight without someone with parental authority will require a written declaration of consent from their parents – including a copy of the signing parent’s ID card or passport. Staying overnight in one of the dormitories at MEININGER is only permitted for guests under the age of 18 if they are part of a group reservation. Special conditions apply for children.
Alcohol
Alcoholic drinks are available from the bar. For youth groups MEININGER offers controlled serving of alcohol.
Animals
Pets are welcome at MEININGER at the extra costs of 10 € per animal and day. No animals are permitted in the dormitories and communal rooms. Dogs must be kept on a lead outside of the room.
Exception: we regret that at the MEININGER Hotel London Hyde Park no pets are permitted.
Arrival
The rooms are ready for use from 3 pm. Luggage may be stored free of charge in the luggage room.
Bed linen
Bed linen is always included.
Breakfast
Up until their arrival, guests can book the MEININGER all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet in advance for 4 euros/GBP. For those who spontaneously decide to partake in the breakfast buffet, a price of 4.50 euros/GBP will be charged. At our MEININGER Hotel Berlin Central Station breakfast costs 5.50 euros, until and after arrival.
Breakfast is included in the price for group bookings of 12 or more people. Monday to Friday breakfast is available from 7 to 10 am, on weekends and public holidays from 7.30 to 11 am.

Cancellation / guarantee
Bookings for up to 11 people can be cancelled free of charge until 6 pm on the day of arrival. If the guests do not arrive by 6 pm, the room will be automatically made available for other guests unless a guaranteed booking has been made.
A guaranteed booking can be made by providing credit card details or advance payment. In the event of a no-show, you will be charged the full price of the first night.
Cancellations can be sent online via the cancellation form or by email welcome[at]meininger-hotels.com.
For bookings of special rates, different cancellation terms may apply. Group reservations are also subject to special conditions, as stated in the General Terms and Conditions.
Children
Children and their parents are extremely welcome at MEININGER! The rooms with multiple beds make ideal family rooms. Children up to the age of 5 can sleep free of charge in their parents' room. Children from the age of 6 to 12 receive a 50 percent reduction on the booked room category.

Departure
Check-out on the departure day is at 10 am. For those who wish to sleep longer, a later departure time of 1 pm can be booked for 5 euros/GBP per person. Luggage may be stored free of charge in the luggage room.
Disabled-friendly rooms

Dormitories
A dormitory is a room with multiple beds and individual travellers can book single beds in it. This means that several guests share the room. You must be at least 18 years old to stay in a dormitory.
In the women’s dormitory only women are permitted to sleep in one of the up to 6 beds, at the MEININGER Hotel London Hyde Park up to 14 beds.
Both men and women can sleep in the small dormitory, usually there are up to 6 beds.
In the large dormitory there are up to 14 beds where men and women can sleep.
Environmental zones
Some cities have established environmental zones in their city centers. Please find detailed informations at Low Emissions Zones.
Group
A group consisting of at least twelve people and will receive special conditions from MEININGER.
Guest kitchen
In all MEININGER establishments – apart from London – there is a guest kitchen. A fridge, oven, microwave and sink are provided, as are cooking utensils, saucepans, crockery and cutlery.
If you are lacking culinary inspiration, the MEININGER recipe book “Hostel cuisine – Guest recipes” will provide you with new ideas. The first hostel recipe book in the world is available from the reception for 5.90 euros.
Internet / wifi
Free wifi is available in the lobby. Use of the internet terminals in the public zones and wifi in the rooms is available for a small fee.
LEZ (low emissions zones)
Some cities have established low emissions zones (environmental zones) in their city centers for cars and/or coaches. The restrictions vary from city to city, so please find detailed informations about the regulations at your destination:

Payment
MEININGER accepts payment in cash, via bank transfer, EC card, VISA, Mastercard and Amex.
Prices
Prices at MEININGER depend on the season and availability. If there are not many rooms left in a particular room category for a certain date, the price will increase. If there are still lots of rooms available, the prices will drop. It is therefore a good idea to book as early as possible. However, those who decide spontaneously can also take advantage of last-minute offers.
Room cleaning
The rooms in all MEININGER establishments are cleaned daily.
Safety and security
- All entrance areas in MEININGER buildings are under video surveillance.
- The reception is staffed 24 hours a day.
- Access to the rooms is via key cards
- For Group travel there are special security provisions.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in MEININGER establishments. Designated smoking areas are located in front of the building.
Tours & tickets
The MEININGER team will be happy to advise you on planning and booking city tours, guided tours of the city and excursions as well as concerts, trade fairs and exhibitions.
Towels
In the single and twin-rooms the towels are included in the price and are provided ready in the rooms. If you are staying in a room with multiple beds, towels can be borrowed for free from the reception against a deposit of 5 euros/GBP. Guests staying in the dormitories can hire towels from the reception for a fee of 1 euro/GBP plus a deposit of 5 euros/GBP.
WiFi
Free wifi is available in the lobby. Use of wifi in the rooms is available for a small fee.
Youth hostel pass
You do not need a youth hostel pass at MEININGER.
