What is typical about Munich?
The wonderful beer gardens! There’s nothing better than whiling away an afternoon in a beer garden with friends in fine weather – a Mass litre of beer is naturally also a must! Just a tip: in almost all beer gardens, guests are able to bring food with them and only need to buy their drinks there.

What do you have to experience in Munich?
The Oktoberfest! Once a year, Munich is transformed into an entirely different city for two weeks. Jovial revellers clad in Dirndls and Lederhosen throng the streets, brass music can be heard at every corner, and the brewery carriages clatter past the hotel every few minutes. It is simply a fantastic atmosphere that will lift anyone’s spirits.

The English Garden. 3.75 km² in size, it is one of the largest parks in the world. Situated on the west bank of the River Isar, the central location means this green sanctuary is not only popular with tourists. Directly at the 25 m high Chinese tower erected in a pagoda style is the second largest beer garden in Munich with seating for 7,000. Regardless of whether in the summer or winter, it is definitely worth stopping by the Eisbach to watch the surfers riding the single wave there.

What’s your insider tip for Munich?
The X-Cess is located at the heart of the city, directly on Karlsplatz. A mixture of a bar and club, particularly the music couldn’t get any more individual, for the DJs are people like you and I. Many young inhabitants of Munich and people from all around the globe come together here – not least because of the cool atmosphere and affordable prices. What’s particularly great is that admission is entirely free and you don’t have to queue for ages.
