MEININGER staff on the move – the best restaurants

Since most people don’t fancy cooking when they’re on vacation, travelling offers the perfect opportunity to seek out the best restaurants and experience the most delicious and extraordinary dishes in town. Our employees reveal their favourite restaurants in the MEININGER cities. Bon appétit!

Favourite dish: Burger with onion confit and French fries.
Special tip: Hannekes Boom is a beer garden, restaurant and concert venue rolled into one. There’s live music covering the genres of rock, jazz and folk – so check out the calendar. Every week, there’s a new menu card with seasonal specials.

Markus Möritz, Art Director

Favourite restaurant: Clärchens Ballhaus, Auguststr. 24 Berlin 10117 Berlin
Style: Good Italian-Mediterranean cuisine at a fair rate. Special feature: the large outside serving area. I happily return to this wonderful Berlin classic year after year. With its gloomy charm, it still has a bit of the atmosphere of the Berlin punk of the 90s.
Favourite dish: Chanterelle salad and cutlets of water buffalo from the region.
Special tip: The dance evenings are legendary. Every night of the week there’s a different rhythm to accompany your groovy moves as you sway the night away. The atmosphere is unbeatable – and who knows for how much longer, so make sure to visit soon!
