Travelling is not just for our guests. The desire to tour the world also haunts our employees. Urban travels are in their DNA and they love to experience new places around the globe. Four of our co-workers share their favourite destinations.
Isabell Kunert, Group Sales Assistant
Destination: Road trip in Ireland
Favourite place: Galway (read why on our blog!)
Describe the place in three words: Landscape, whiskey, hospitality
Do not miss: Ring of Kerry!
My secret tip: Devitts Pub in Dublin – it doesn’t get more Irish than this! If you are lucky, you even get to tap your own Guinness at the bar.
Daniel Muñoz, Graphic Designer
Destination: Granada, Spain
Favourite place: The promenade “Paseo de los tristes” with its many bars, restaurants and the view of the Alhambra!
Describe the place in three words: Picturesque, enchanting, vibrant
Do not miss: The Alhambra, the Palacio de Generalife and the Albaycín district with its views of the Alhambra.
My secret tip: La tetería del Bañuelo is a typical oriental café with lots of teas and sweets. From the terrace you have a great view of the Alhambra.
Jessica Hecht, Group Sales
Destination: Dominicial, Costa Rica
Favourite place: The beach, of course! Especially around the time of sunset you’ll meet lots of interesting people there.
Describe the place in three words: Wonderful, relaxed, fun
Do not miss: There are no traditional sights. The town is located by the beach. In some places it is filled with surfers and in others you’ll have it all to yourself. Sometimes you might run into a crocodile or two near the river mouth.
My secret tip: Equipped with a Coco Frío in your hand, walk along the beach to the next town and you’ll reach a beautiful waterfall.
Johanna, Receptionist at the MEININGER Hotel Berlin Airport
Destination: London, UK
Favourite place: Camden – I discover something new every time I’m there. The many small shops and pubs are remarkable.
Describe the place in three words: Diverse, traditional, edgy
Do not miss: Old Spitalfields Market – one of the coolest places with its delicious street food, superior cupcakes and piña coladas served in a real pineapple.
My secret tip: Enjoy a night of all-you-can-eat buffet in Chinatown: unbeatable prices, delicious food and authentic atmosphere.
