Gizem and Francisco who are working in our MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Center answered some questions about their jobs and their city.
What’s your name and what’s your job at MEININGER?
Gizem: My name is Gizem and I work at the MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Center – in the most beautiful city in the world.
Francisco: My name is Francisco and I do Bar, Reception and sometimes breakfast service at the MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Center.
What is the question most guests ask you in the hotel?
Gizem: Where can I eat the best fish? – Of course at the hamburger fisheries port!
Francisco: Where do you come from and how many languages do you speak?
What is typical about Hamburg?
Gizem: The fish market is typical for Hamburg. If you visit Hamburg, you need to go there and try a tasty fish bread.
Francisco: Hamburg is characterized for being the greenest city in Germany, having lots of water and more bridges than Venice, London and Amsterdam together. Al areas near to the Elbe or the Alster must be visited.
What do you have to experience in Hamburg?
Gizem: Go out during the night and discover the city. That’s a lot of fun – especially during the weekends.
Francisco: Very important is to go to the top of the Tower of St. Michael Church where you have a view of the city. Also, do a boat trip across and around the Elbe.
What’s your insider tip for Hamburg?
Gizem: Walk along the promenade of the harbour city. It’s such a nice area with nice restaurants and bars and an awesome view over the Elbe.
Francisco: Instead of going to Reeperbahn, go to Hamburger Berg Str. in St. Pauli or Schulterblatt Str. in Sternschanze. There are many cool bars and cafés.
If you go to Rote Flora for underground-electro-music remember not to take pictures because you will be kicked out.
