Ein Nachmittag im Stadtteil King\u2019s Cross, London<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

London ist eine enorm gro\u00dfe Stadt mit vielen unterschiedlichen Stadtvierteln. Wenn Sie daher nur begrenzt Zeit haben und nicht so sehr an den touristischen Hauptattraktionen interessiert sind, dann erhalten Sie einen guten Eindruck von der Stadt, wenn Sie sich eine bestimmte Gegend aussuchen und diese einen ganzen Nachmittag lang erkunden. In King\u2019s Cross, einem ehemaligen Rotlichtbezirk und daher einer weniger gefragten Gegend Londons, wurden in den letzten 30 Jahren viel erneuert und jetzt hat dieser Stadtteil eine Vielzahl gro\u00dfartiger und interessanter Dinge zu bieten. Hier kommt ein Vorschlag, wie man einen Nachmittag in King\u2019s Cross verbringen k\u00f6nnte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. King\u2019s Cross\u00a0Bahnhof<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Beginnen Sie Ihre Erkundungstour am gleichnamigen Bahnhof, der Endstation aller Z\u00fcge aus dem Nordosten Englands und aus Schottland. Der Zentralbereich des Bahnhofs, dort, wo sich die Abfahrtstafeln befinden, wurde 2012 renoviert und weist nun ein wundersch\u00f6n strukturiertes, faszinierendes Hallendach auf, das mit dem Licht die Farbe wechselt. Ebenfalls in der Haupthalle entdeckt man den Zugang zum ber\u00fchmten Harry-Potter-Bahnsteig 9 \u00be, wo Sie sich fotografieren lassen k\u00f6nnen, wie Sie mit einem Gep\u00e4ckwagen in die Wand rennen! Meistens befindet sich da eine Besucherschlange, also machen Sie sich auf eine kurze Wartezeit gefasst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Bahnhof St. Pancras Station<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nicht zu verwechseln mit King\u2019s Cross ist der benachbarte und wesentlich stattlichere Bahnhof St. Pancras Station, der aufgrund seiner unglaublichen Architektur ebenfalls einen Besuch wert ist. Hier ist die Londoner Endstation f\u00fcr den Eurostar, daher herrscht dort ein mindestens genauso gesch\u00e4ftiges Treiben wie auf dem gegen\u00fcberliegenden Bahnhof, aber das Glasdach und das helle Dekor verleihen dem Geb\u00e4ude eine ger\u00e4umige und einladende Atmosph\u00e4re. Im Bahnhof selbst befinden sich interessante L\u00e4den, falls Sie die Lust auf ein bisschen Einkaufstherapie \u00fcberf\u00e4llt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Regent\u2019s Canal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Wenn Sie den Bahnhof auf der n\u00f6rdlichen Seite verlassen und die Pancras Road hinuntergehen, kommen Sie an den sch\u00f6nen Regent\u2019s Canal. Wenn Sie den Kanal \u00fcberquert haben, erreichen Sie Granary Square, einen lebhaften, \u00f6ffentlichen Platz vor Central St. Martin\u2019s, Teil der Londoner University of Arts. Die im Boden versenkten Brunnen laden Kinder (und Erwachsene, die Spa\u00df daran haben) ein, an hei\u00dfen Sommertagen zu planschen. Es sind viele Sitzgelegenheiten vorhanden, \u00fcberall auf dem Platz gibt es freies WLAN und es ist au\u00dferdem ein gro\u00dfartiger Platz, um Leute zu beobachten. Gleich daneben befindet sich ein kleines Einkaufzentrum im Freien mit mehreren L\u00e4den, Bars und Restaurants, falls Sie Hunger versp\u00fcren.<\/p>\n\n\n

Gleich am Rand des Kanals, den Sie auf Ihrem Hinweg \u00fcberquert haben, sehen Sie Stufen, auf denen man sitzen kann, und wo an Sommerabenden kostenlose Open-Air-Filme auf einer schwimmenden Leinwand gezeigt werden. Allein das Zusehen beim Aufblasvorgang und dem Aufbau der Leinwand ist bereits sehr unterhaltsam!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn Sie dem Kanal nun in \u00f6stlicher Richtung folgen, dann sto\u00dfen Sie auf Word on the Water, einen Laden f\u00fcr gebrauchte B\u00fccher auf einem verankerten Frachtkahn. St\u00f6bern Sie in der skurrilen Sammlung von Romanen, Biographien und Reisef\u00fchrern nach einer Lekt\u00fcre, die Sie interessiert. Wenn Sie Gl\u00fcck haben, spielt auf dem Kahn jemand Live-Musik oder Sie setzen sich ganz einfach auf dem Treidelpfad in die Sonne und genie\u00dfen die Atmosph\u00e4re dieser kleinen Oase der Ruhe mitten in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf dem Weg zur\u00fcck zu St. Pancras Station w\u00e4re es einfach zu schade, wenn Sie sich bei dieser Gelegenheit nicht die weltber\u00fchmte British Library ansehen w\u00fcrden. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos, Sie m\u00fcssen aber eine Sicherheitskontrolle passieren. In der Bibliothek selbst befinden sich, umgeben von herrlicher Architektur und B\u00fcchern, zahlreiche Bereiche zum Arbeiten, Lesen oder einfach zum Entspannen.
