Arrival & departure
great locationvery welcoming stuffclear and new room
Hamburg – the Hanseatic friendliness, northern German hospitality, delicious fish bread rolls and the scent of the wide world floating on the breeze. What would Hamburg be without its famous harbour? MEININGER also got swept away with the nautical charm of the Hanseatic City and furnished the Hamburg City Centre Hotel in this theme. Beach chairs, pictures with ocean motifs and maritime souvenirs decorate the rooms and get the guests into the right spirit for their Hamburg visit as soon as they arrive.
The MEININGER Hotel is located centrally in close proximity to the Hamburg-Altona train station, making it an affordable and comfortable home base not far from the many sightseeing attractions of Hamburg.
From here it’s only a stone’s throw away by foot or public transport to the trendy Sternschanze quarter with its many bars and restaurants. A stroll along the Elbe takes you to the Fischmarkt (lit. fish market) and the jetties of the Elbe Philharmonic Hall on the edge of the HafenCity.
MEININGER is simply everything: business hotel for business travellers, hostel for backpackers, youth hostel for class trips and family hotel for parents with children. But most of all the MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Centre is a place where you can relax wonderfully in rooms with modern facilities without having to watch the price. MEININGER makes this very special atmosphere absolutely unique!
Many backpackers and Interrail travellers are drawn to the special charm of the Hanseatic City on their sightseeing tour of Germany. In the MEININGER hotel dormitories they can find comfortable but affordable accommodation that goes easy on tight travel budgets.
And just in case the business traveller spent too long amusing himself at the Reeperbahn then he can check into MEININGER at any time and have a leisurely sleep in the next morning with late check-out.
Families enjoy going on an exciting harbour tour during their city break in the metropolis on the Elbe River. In the family suite of the MEININGER hotel the cot is already ready set up.
With its inexpensive shared rooms MEININGER is well prepared to accommodate school classes, sport clubs or large groups. After a day’s sightseeing, there is time in the evenings for the young people to play a round of table football or pool in the game zone before bed.
