MEININGER Group and BHS Real Estate Management have signed the contract for a MEININGER Hotel in Innsbruck. The property will be located on Blasius-Hueber-Straße in the center of Innsbruck and will have 76 rooms with a total of 261 beds. The opening is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020.

The building will be completely modernised and also expanded. The facade of the house will be preserved. The hotel will have a gross floor area of 3100 square meters. The 76 rooms and 261 beds will be spread over 6 floors. The room types will range from classic double rooms to private multi-bed-rooms through to a bed in a dorm. The public areas such as reception, lobby, lounge, bar and breakfast room as well as the guest kitchen and games zone, which are typical features of a MEININGER, will be located on the ground floor of the building. The interior design of the hotel will be based on an individual theme specific to the local area.

"Innsbruck is an interesting and important location. The city itself offers many attractions but also the mountains around Innsbruck attract numerous tourists in every season. In addition to hiking or winter sports, various events and fairs attract visitors to Innsbruck. Therefore we expect a diverse mix of guests from individual travellers, backpackers, business travellers, groups to families, as typical for MEININGER.” says Doros Theodorou, CCO of MEININGER Hotels.

Hannes Spanring, CEO of MEININGER Hotels, adds: "I am very pleased that MEININGER can further expand its presence in Austria. The hotel in Innsbruck is the first MEININGER in the middle of the Alps. The city is conveniently located at an important transit route, the gateway to Italy. Being the capital of Tyrol, it is also an important supra-regional center."

Also, the location of the hotel within Innsbruck is excellent. The shopping streets and the old town can be reached in just 5-10 minutes by walking, as well as attractions such as the Golden Roof, the Triumphal Arch and the Dom of St. Jacob. Innsbruck Central Station is just 1.3 km from the hotel and can be reached in a 15 minutes’ walk or by bus in just 10 minutes. The connection to public transport is perfect. The tram line 3 and several bus lines stop right in front of the hotel.
