Second hotel in Brussels

MEININGER Hotels and Nelson Canal signed a contract for a hotel in Brussels. The hotel with 150 rooms and 668 beds will be located on Rue Bara 101 close to the main railway station in Brussels. The hotel is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2018 and will be the second one of the MEININGER Group in Brussels.

First partnership in Russia

MEININGER Hotels, Europe’s leading hotel group, and private equity firm VIYM, which specialises in growth capital and hospitality investments across Russia, CIS and Europe, have today announced the signing of a management agreement. The resulting project will see Germany’s MEININGER Hotels open their first ever hotel-hostel hybrid in Russia, as part of VIYM’s Nikolskiye Ryady development in Saint Petersburg.

Urban House in Copenhagen and MEININGER Hotel

MEININGER Hotel Group and Pandox AB signed a lease agreement for a hotel in Copenhagen. The Urban House Copenhagen Hostel is currently operated by Pandox. MEININGER will be taking on the new 218 room hotel on the 1st January 2017. The hotel will be undergoing a soft refurbishment throughout the first 12 months of operation.

New hotel in Zurich

The MEININGER Group is to open its first hotel in Switzerland in the sustainable Zurich district of Greencity. MEININGER and the turnkey contractor Losinger Marazzi AG have signed a corresponding contract. The hotel will have some 170 rooms and about 600 beds and is expected to open at the end of 2019.

New hotel in Milan

MEININGER Hotels and the Italian leading property company Beni Stabili SIIQ have signed an agreement for a hotel in Milan. The building is situated at Piazza Monte Titano in front of the Lambrate railway station. The 131-room, 491-bed hotel is expected to open in early 2018.

New hotel in Heidelberg

The hotel will be located at the Carl-Benz-street 4-6 close to the central station. The opening of the first MEININGER hotel in Heidelberg is planned for the beginning of 2019 with a lease term of 20 years. The new hotel will offer 336 beds in 100 rooms on 5 floors.

Eva Bachmann has held the new position of Director Acquisitions and Strategy at MEININGER Hotels since August this year. In addition, she has also assumed the function of Executive Assistant to the CEO.

New hotel in Leipzig in 2017

MEININGER Hotels will open a hotel in close proximity to Leipzig's main station at the beginning of 2017. The former ibis Hotel from the Accor Group will be converted in accordance with MEININGER standards and will ultimately have 404 beds available in 126 rooms.
