Shop till you drop in Munich

From Stachus to Marienplatz

Hardly a visitor leaves Munich without being strolled through the pedestrian zone of Neuhauser and Kaufingerstrasse at least once – not least because here you can find famous sights such as the Frauenkirche and the Munich City Hall. All major brands from Saturn to H&M and Svarovski are based here, in addition to souvenir stalls, street musicians and young artists who accompany you on this relaxed shopping stroll from Stachus to Marienplatz.

Stierblut

„Stierblut“ is on the slightly quieter Sendlingerstraße which branches south of the bustle around Kaufingerstrasse. There are some well-known brands such as Görtz or Zara here as well, but also some individual shops such as „Stierblut“. Admittedly, the name which means „Bull’s Blood“ may be a bit confusing in the first place. But in fact this is a hip fashion and lifestyle store with shirts, shorts and shoes for both sexes, which has established itself over the last 20 years at Munich’s fashion-conscious youth. Tip: Diagonally opposite is a shop-owned outlet, where you can buy clothes a little cheaper.

Viktualienmarkt

Who likes culinary shopping? Names like “Honighäus’l”, “Kleiner Ochs’nbrater” and “Schlemmermeyer” already tell what the Viktualienmarkt south of Marienplatz is all about. In the cobbled maze of pavilions and booths the many different odors are just fabulous. Tasty cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables or hearty Bavarian cuisine can be tasted here all day long. In the large center square there are also countless benches for a refreshing beer break.
