But if you look closely you can still recognize Robinson’s Bar: The window shows the meaningful sentence “We don’t get drunk, we get awesome”. Inside there are countless photographs from past parties hanging on the walls, the alternative audience wears horn-rimmed glasses and Chucks and from the speakers a mix of Easy Listening, Soul and Funk echoes.
Hardly a visitor leaves Munich without being strolled through the pedestrian zone of Neuhauser and Kaufingerstrasse at least once – not least because here you can find famous sights such as the Frauenkirche and the Munich City Hall. All major brands from Saturn to H&M and Svarovski are based here, in addition to souvenir stalls, street musicians and young artists who accompany you on this relaxed shopping stroll from Stachus to Marienplatz.

Of course, the current Checkpoint Charlie somehow is Disneyland. You might not be aware of this but the historical Checkpoint Charlie, which served as a border crossing between the American and the Russian sector of the once-divided Berlin, actually stood a few feet further than its present location. Nevertheless, a photo with the men dressed as military staff is – at least- for the first visit to Berlin a clear must! And just because you are already there and a little education in history hasn’t hurt anybody yet, pay the neighboring Checkpoint Charlie Museum a visit!
