Top 5 Best Berlin Christmas Markets You Should Visit 👇
During Advent, the whole of Berlin shimmers in a sea of Christmas lights, and the smell of mulled wine and cinnamon wafts from the cafés.
Berlin has far more to offer during this time, though, namely many Christmas markets. A visit is an absolute must in order to enjoy the Advent season in the capital. We have compiled a few tips for you:
The Ultimate guide!
#1 Berlin Christmas market at the Red City Hall
The Christmas market at the Red City Hall is one of the most famous markets in Berlin and should definitely be visited during Advent.
You can browse the stalls close to Alexanderplatz between November 27 and December 30. This market has far more to offer than just the little stalls offering last-minute presents, mulled wine, roasted almonds, and all kinds of Christmas treats. There is also an ice rink around the Neptune Fountain (ice skates are available for hire), and a gigantic Ferris wheel with closed cabins that guarantees breathtaking views over Berlin. Children will have a wonderful time visiting the animals in the petting zoo and taking pony rides.
#2 Berlin Christmas market at the Kulturbrauerei
Another Berlin’s Christmas market highlight awaits at the Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg.
This Christmas market is open from November 27 to December 22 and offers Scandinavian flair in a factory setting. Particularly visitors staying in the MEININGER Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz are just one U-Bahn station away and should be sure to pay the market a visit. Traditional Nordic food and beverages await you, along with hand-crafted wares.
Best of all are the seven Swedish log stoves and the warming room with sauna oven that helps ensure a cosy atmosphere in even the coldest of weather.

#5 Berlin Christmas market at Lehmann’s Farm
Located slightly out of the city center, they held a Christmas market at Lehmann’s Farm in Marienfelde.
Mulled wine, specialities from regions around the globe, and tasty waffles provide refreshment, and it is also possible to do a little shopping.
You will search in vain for tat and cheap trinkets here, though; top-quality handcrafted wares are instead offered. You can even have your gifts personalised at the stalls run by a smith, porcelain painter, or weaver. And it is naturally also possible to visit the farm animals – meaning a visit to Mariendorf is above all worthwhile for those with children.
The market is open on the second and third Advent weekends (8nd to 10 of December and 15 to 17 of December 2023).

Where to stay in Berlin for Christmas markets
The best location to stay during Advent time in Berlin is the southern part of the Mitte district. And to be more precise, the areas around Alexanderplatz or Mitte.
Both areas are very well-connected to the rest of the city. You’ll get in no time even to the distant Weihnachtsmärkte (using the S-Bahn and U-Bahn). In addition, most of the main Weihnachtsmärkte are within this area. You’ll be at walking distance to at least a few of them.
