Our friends from the hood of Vesterbro

What to do in Vesterbro, Copenhagen

Since we have settled here in Vesterbro, we have made some friends in the hood. These are some very cool local businesses that we’re happy to call our friends, and that will only help us pump up the guests’ experience. So let’s pump it up!

What to do in Vesterbro

Recycled vintage bikes

If this doesn’t already sound pretty awesome, we don’t know what does. Recycles makes their own bikes from old recycled bike parts. As a result, no two bikes are the same. They also come with an automatic gear, and have a strong vintage feel to them. Doesn’t get any more sustainable than that! Oh, and did we mention the guys running the show, Henrik, Claus and Mikkel, are just super sweet?

So how does that translate into our hotel?

Recycles will be providing us with 50 ‘handmade’ bikes that our guests will be able to rent out; and if they happen to fall in love with a bike, they can buy it, and we’ll ship it to wherever they live. Easy peasy!

What to do in Vesterbro, risteriet

Copenhagen Coffee – Risteriet

The place we get our everyday coffee from (literally). Nominated for best cafe and coffee in Copenhagen, Risteriet (which stands for ‘roastery’) is a place which roasts their own beans and serves up quality coffee. It’s a small and cozy place, and it’s only 2 minutes away from our house. Warmly and fuzzily recommended!

What to do in Vesterbro, Duck swimming

Ugly Duck

Would you like a Hoppy Christmas or an Ugly Christmas? When drinking an Ugly Duck beer, you’re drinking a danish craft beer made on Funen. Check out their selection – creative, to say the least … Let’s see how our guests will like it!

What to do in Vesterbro, neighbourhood pizza

Best Pizza Copenhagen – Neighbourhood

Hands down, the best pizza in town. It’s organic, fresh, Italian, green, gourmet AND on top of it all, extremely beautiful. Just look at that picture. The guys behind it are trying to do something different as far as pizza places go – and it looks like it’s working. Organic cocktails accompany the meal. Definitely something of a “To-do” when visiting Copenhagen, so we’ll be recommending it non-stop.

What to do in Vesterbro, Kaffe Istedgade

Kaffe Istedgade

Good things come in small packages most certainly works for this place. It probably can’t host more than 10 people at a time, but its interior design makes it just about the coziest cafes out there. It’s mostly decorated with natural materials, and that’s how the entire atmosphere is as well: the staff is ever so warm, welcoming and friendly. Locals love this place. Every two weeks or so they have some really cozy events going on, so be sure to follow our Vesterbro section on the events page.

What to do in Vesterbro, cofoco

Best fresh sandwich in Copenhagen – Cofoco

The place to go to if you’re in the mood for a fresh sandwich or French baguette; plus, the street where it is located, Værnedamsvej, is a pretty neat shopping street. Luckily, we’ll be serving their sandwiches in our kiosk as well!

Do you also enjoy spending time in these places? Any others you think we should look into? If you yourself own a cool place in Vesterbro, don’t hesitate to get in touch! We love making new friends.

Make the most out of your day by staying at our central hotel in Copenhagen next to train station.
