Social Media Ambassador Workshop – Content Creation & Storytelling
Working with MEININGER has its perks. As we are more than happy to support our employee’s talents, they have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills to add to their CVs.
In January 2020 we organised a content creation and storytelling workshop for our so-called Social Media Ambassadors. The question arises: who are these Social Media Ambassadors, and how do you become one? We would like to take a second to explain why we initiated Social Media Ambassador Workshop in the first place.
Why did we initiate this program?
MEININGER has at the moment 30 hotels in operation and we are constantly growing. It is not an easy task to stay up to date with all events and news from all of the MEININGER cities. However, it is a vital task to deliver the best and most current content we possibly can, from all of our hotels. That precisely is the reason why each MEININGER Hotel has a designated Social Media Ambassador. The ambassador will create content for social media channels, so that our guests can fully understand what MEININGER has to offer in each hotel. This way we can also deliver best insider tips, for example which restaurants to visit in order to taste the finest local food, which events not to miss or which tourist traps to avoid.
Content Creation & Storytelling Workshop
We invited 30 MEININGER Social Media Ambassadors, from different hotels and professional backgrounds for our Content Creation & Storytelling Workshop in Berlin. They were given the opportunity to learn from our internal social media marketing team as well as an external speaker, influencer, and travel blogger Amandine Hach, on how to create pleasing visual content.
The social media marketing team welcomed the Social Media Ambassadors to the workshop that took place in the MEININGER Headquarters in Berlin.
The Social Media Ambassadors were introduced to the topic of storytelling, and why this is important to social media. They were given a content briefing, a photo shoot check-list and content goals. Amandine not only passed on various photography tips, but also provided inspiration on where to search for great content.
In the afternoon we visited our MEININGER Hotel Berlin Tiergarten. At this point, the Social Media Ambassadors were given the chance to show-off what they had learned at our workshop. They were asked to take pictures and videos of different hotel rooms, the hotel public areas such as the bar, lounge and guest kitchen. They also visited a local highlight, the Food Market Hall, near our MEININGER Hotel Berlin Tiergarten.
After the eventful day, we invited our Social Media Ambassadors to a typical German restaurant, located across our MEININGER Hotel Berlin Tiergarten, to try out German cuisine.
Soon we hope to be seeing more valuable content created by our conscientious Social Media Ambassadors, that will provide our guests with useful local tips in order to enhance their stay at a MEININGER Hotel.
How do you become a Social Media Ambassador at MEININGER?
First and foremost, you must to be part of the MEININGER Hotels team.
Second, you must love taking pictures and videos. Knowledge and interest in social media is also required.
Third, simply notify your hotel manager!
