As an up and coming neighborhood, it is still regarded as an off the beaten path destination and yet to be discovered by the masses- get here soon and explore with us!Moabit has radically changed over the past years and has become a hybrid of both older roots and new ideas as well as structures that have infiltrated Berlin. The interior design of the hotel reflects this: a melting pot of 19th century design and contemporary themes. Its history is fascinating, as it is still technically an island and was once a border area between East and West, before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The hotel itself has fantastic public transport connections with U-Bhf Turmstraße Undeground Station just a few seconds walk from the hotel. In addition, MEININGER Hotel Berlin Tiergarten is just a short ride from the cutting-edge and spacious Berlin Central train station which is also within Moabit- a transport hub that looks and feels like it already has one foot in the future and has connections to all over Berlin and Germany. Moabit is located north of Tiergarten park and is surrounded by a number of other green public spaces. These natural green areas, alongside the fact that Moabit is completely orbited by canals and the water of the river Spree, means there is a fresh and vital energy about this place. The fact that Tiergarten park is effectively a forest in the middle of one of Europe's biggest cities lends an atmosphere to this hotel and the surrounding neighborhood like no other. In fact, this symbiotic relationship between the city and the environment is a huge component of Berlin as a whole. The uplifiting energy is matched by the cosmopolitan make up of those that live here, from students to professionals and artists.Furthermore, If you are looking for somewhere to dine, there are a lot of delightful cafes in the area and along the river Spree. Any visitor would be well advised to go down to Turmstraße, Moabit´s main shopping street, and sample some of the delicious Lebanese and Turkish cuisine available there. Lastly, be sure to check out the Arminius Markthalle, a charming market that is under National Trust protection and is truly a unique place to visit.
