I liked my time at the hotel. We had family room with 4 beds, small room but clean, nice bathroom. All what we needed. We used hotel breakfest just once, but good for the price. Big plus for this

Amsterdam is famous for its canals - it's not called the Venice of the North for nothing.
The water makes its way through the city along the many, semi-circular canals. The city actually lies two metres under sea level.
So it's no wonder that Amsterdamers live in harmony with the sea. The interplay of land and water is ever present in the cityscape and is also skillfully realised in the design of the new hotel. Guests of the MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam Amstel can plunge in, immerse themselves and feel great.
The newly built hotel is located right next to the Amsterdam Amstel train station in the south east of the city. From the hotel it is only about 10 minutes by public transport to the historical old town with all its sights. Not just the city center but also the area around the hotel has a lot to offer for families, group travelers or backpackers.
Backpackers not only find the right kind of accommodation at MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam Amstel but also quickly meet likeminded travelers. A stay in the dormitory and the guest kitchen available to all guests enable affordable travel without having to forgo the necessary comfort.
Business travelers also benefit from the hotel's convenient transport connections. All the most important places in the city are easy to reach by public transport or taxi. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception enable the maximum flexibility for business travelers.
A city break with children? There is a lot of variety awaiting families in Amsterdam. That's a promise! A visit to the Artis Zoo makes for an unforgettable experience and in the evenings the older kids can hang out in the hotel's game zone. Families sleep comfortably in the shared rooms at the MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam Amstel.
The MEININGER Hotel in the east of Amsterdam is the ideal base for school classes and group travelers for a discovery tour through the city. MEININGER Amsterdam Amstel near the train station has reasonably priced and comfortable shared rooms, the perfect combination!
MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam Amstel is part of the Frankendael neighborhood, which is in turn a division of the wider area of Watergraafsmeer. Waterfraafsmeer is a polder (low-lying tract of land sealed off by dikes forming an artificial hydrological structure), which makes it interesting in itself to visit!
There is plenty to check out in the local area including the local Frankendael Park, a 7 acre open green space where there is a 17th century estate home. Anyone looking to blow off some steam after a hectic day will find this place a great relief. You will also find some great restaurants if you fancy dining out.
Watergraafsmeer has quite a large area devoted to residential properties that date back to the 1930s, and the atmosphere around the locality is peaceful and safe. Of particular interest to football fans of a certain age will be the neighborhood right next to Frankendael, called Betondorp, which is where the great Johan Cruijff grew up. However, there is also so much to do and see outside of this neighborhood: the wider city of Amsterdam beckons our guests to come and experience it all! We are located to the south of Amsterdam Centrum, where there is a multitude of famous tourist attractions including Rembrandt House Museum and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The borough of Amsterdam-Zuid is to the west and Markermeer lake is only a short distance away. You won´t have any trouble getting places as we are in a fantastic location with Amsterdam Amstel station on the doorstep giving you access to all over the city.
