In the 1960s air travel was still considered the epitome of modern technology and absolute freedom. Many dreamed of a career at a large airline - either as a pilot in a smart uniform or as a stewardess with a perky little hat. The MEININGER Hotel Frankfurt/Main Airport is cheekily dedicated to this “Golden Age of Travel” and introduces its own crew members in the murals in the lobby and dining room: the team from “Pan M”
In Frankfurt the widest variety of travelers meet: Business people who are visiting the Frankfurt Trade Fairs and conferences, parents and their children who are flying away on a family holiday, backpackers and city break travelers who want to see Frankfurt as part of their tour of Germany and school students on a class trip. The MEININGER Hotel Frankfurt/Main Airport is ready for all of them with affordable rooms, modern facilities and excellent service.
Backpackers, who want to recover from jet lag, can indulge in a couple of hours of sleep even during the day with the dimmable windows. And with the iPod docking station in the rooms they can even listen to their personal soundtrack to relax.
Business people appreciate the proximity to the airport for a quick arrival and departure. Also the Bankenviertel or the Messe (exhibition centre) are comfortably reached thanks to the great transport connections. The seminar room in the MEININGER hotel is available for that last meeting just before departure.
From here, well rested parents with children begin their family holiday. Thanks to the sound-proofed windows, all the necessary strength can be gathered on the night before departure, up until the hotel’s shuttle service comfortably takes the whole family and luggage to the airport.
It’s not only Frankfurt, but also Mainz and the near by Frankfurt Rhine-Main area that are popular destinations for group tours. At the MEININGER Hotel Frankfurt/Main Airport there are modern dormitories and shared rooms available for school students, clubs and groups.
MEININGER Hotel Frankfurt / Main Airport is located a few minutes away from the Frankfurt International Airport. This locality is entirely devoted to the airport and therefore it is perfect for those on a short stopover, who want to get in and out with no hassle. There is a free airport shuttle running every 30 minutes from 5:10am - 23:40pm from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen Regionalbahnhof train station is just a short distance from the hotel. It is also close to Gateway Gardens, which is known by many of our corporate guests.
There are definitely some sites worth visiting that are just a short journey from Frankfurt Flughafen. These include the Commerzbank-Arena, a football stadium and host of a number of concerts. There are also a number of Golf Parks if you enjoy the more leisurely sports! However, if it is your desire to go and experience what Frankfurt City center has to offer then the commute is easy. Our hotel is south-west of the center and there are plenty of surrounding districts and neighborhoods to visit along the way. Of particular interest in the city to visitors will be some of the attractive green spaces and parks including Bethmann Park, a 3 hectare park complete with a Chinese garden, as well as Palmengarten Botanical Garden in Westend-Süd district. In addition, it is well worth checking out the Naturmuseum Senckenberg which features skeletons of dinosaurs and also a giant anaconda!
