Our family of 5 enjoyed staying at the Salzburg Meininger hotel. Staff was excellent -- friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The world famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg in 1756. The child prodigy stepped on stage for the first time at six years old to display his abilities, which he did with effortless brilliance.
Guests at the MEININGER Hotel Salzburg City Center can also present their musical abilities to other city break travellers on a small rococo stage. But as we all know, not everyone is born a master, so the audience surely won’t be so strict about hitting all the right notes and sounds perfectly.

Business is done in Salzburg as well. Due the MEININGER Hotel’s convenient location with good travel connections, business travellers can get to the Central Station in 15 minutes and at the SZG airport in only half an hour.
Families needing a break from the hustle and bustle of tourist activities in the inner city, can take a short stroll up the Kapuzinerberg, which is located directly behind the hotel. If there is too much playing in the mud up there, then the children's clothes can be washed and dried at MEININGER.
Tour groups and school classes who stay in affordable shared rooms at the MEININGER hotel, can discover many more highlights in Salzburg. The other magnificent historical buildings such as the Mirabell Palace, the Salzburg Residenz Palace, and the Hohensalzburg Fortress are also worth visiting.
MEININGER Hotel Salzburg City Center is located in the neighborhood of Parsch which is part of the city center, offering lots of opportunities to engage in fun activities, see beautiful buildings and gorge on some delicious Austrian cuisine (or other culinary delights from abroad!). Any backpackers or young people looking to burn off some energy will have plenty of options. Just a short walk from the hotel there is a go-kart track, bowling alley and also a rock climbing gym. These are also great options for big groups looking to get involved in some competitive fun on their trip. Furthermore, we are just on the edge of Kapuzinerberg park, which is an idyllic and peaceful nature spot, fantastic for any traveller looking to chill out in Salzburg. The Salzach River runs just to the West of the park, serving as a natural border between the East and West of Salzburg itself. In terms of food, there is an assortment of different restaurants and places to eat for our guests, from cafes to pubs, European and Asian restaurants.
There are a number of monuments close by as well that are worth checking out including some beautiful churches like the Parish Church St. Andrä and Dreifaltigkeitskirche Church with it large, dome fresco. In addition, there is St Sebastian's Cemetery that dates back to the early 16th century and provides a resting place to past members of the royal family, state dignataries and a few members of Wolfgang Mozart´s family. In referencing the great musician, there are many places to see that pay homage to Mozart including the Mozart-Wohnhaus, which is his old home now containing some fascinating artefacts and memoribilia. It is also worth looking further out than Parsch to neighboring districts such as Lehen to the north-west, Salzburg-Aigen to the south and the mountainous areas to the east. MEININGER Hotel Salzburg City Center has great transport links with bus stops just outside the hotel and Salzburg Central Station just a short ride away.
