Willkommen auf der Wiesn, welcome to Munich

The MEININGER hotel is just a few minutes on foot from Munich’s central train station. In the heart of the Barvarian city visitors are received and stay in modern and affordable rooms with a very special flair. Just across from the hotel is the Augustiner Bräustuben where you can try Weisswurst (traditional Bavarian sausage), Haxn (pork knuckle) or a Maß of beer at any time of year or you can go to the annual Oktoberfest.  Thanks to the central location of the MEININGER hotel it takes no time at all to get to the hotspots such as the Old Town, Nymphenburg Palace or the English Garden.

I like Meininger hostels in different cities. In Munich the services were good, rooms a bit old but clean and comfortable. The kitchen was unfortunately small and dirty, but there is a cool terrace

Clean but very loud.

The Room was totally okay, but the other customers are very young, drunken and loud. They knocked on the door at night and ran away. The doors in the hallway popped into the morning and screamed

ARRIVAL / LOCATION

Discover our neighbourhood in Munich City Center

In the up and coming neighborhood of Schwanthalerhöhe otherwise known as Westend, lies MEININGER Hotel Munich City Center. This trendy and interesting locality has plenty to do, so you won´t have to travel far to be entertained when you stay!

One of the first places to checkout as a visitor is the nearby Bavaria statue, a towering bronze monument representing the female personification of Bavaria itself and the strength and magnificence of this. You can also get a great view of Bavariapark. Another cultural landmark to experience on your trip is the Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum, which displays antique automobiles, train carriages and buses- a delight for car enthusiasts out there as well as those looking to see something slightly different on their trip.

The neighborhood has plenty of places to eat regardless of what your taste is.  If you want to dance but not travel too far to do so, then there is a local nightclub within the locality. However, there is also so much to experience beyond our locality. Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt is to the west as well as the hip area of Au-Haidhausen. A great place to check out in the Au-Haidhausen area is the Deutsches Museum which is enormous and displays some fascinating technological artefacts to do with transportation, energy and space. This hotel is extremely well connected to public transport with a number of stations nearby including München Hackerbrücke and München Hauptbahnhof just a short walk.
