The European hotel group extends contract with landlord GalCap by 20 years and sets to renovate its hotel on Schiffamtsgasse in Vienna, Austria.
The 102 room, 294 bed MEININGER Hotel Wien Downtown Sissi is located in the heart of Vienna in the 2nd district. It is due to be given a new look in 2024: Extensive modernisation is planned, but the central location will remain the same. The renovations are mainly planned for the public areas, but the rooms and corridors will also benefit from the new look.
The elegance of Empress Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary is still visible in Vienna. The planned seven-figure investment in renovation work is to refresh MEININGER Hotel Vienna Downtown Sissi, while preserving its old-world charm and attention to detail. Simultaneously, the facilities are intended to be upgraded to the standards of the new generation of MEININGER Hotels.
Ajit Menon, CEO of MEININGER Hotels, on the reasons for the renovation: “A consistent standard of quality is very important to us. We are therefore investing in the refurbishment of the MEININGER Hotel Vienna Downtown Sissi to bring it up to our latest standards. The refurbishment will be managed in line with our sustainability approach and the values we stand for as a company.”
Marco Kohla, Managing Partner of GalCap: "We are very pleased to continue our successful cooperation with MEININGER Hotels for another 20 years. Stable, long-term partnerships are the core of our business model. The MEININGER Hotels concept is an excellent fit for our mixed-use property in this outstanding location."
